Rain cools Delhi, more showers predicted

New Delhi, April 11 (IANS) The capital experienced a cooler Wednesday with a cloudy sky and sporadic rainfall bringing the day's maximum temperature down by five notches below normal to 30.3 degrees Celsius. The met department has forecast more rain Thursday.

 

"Thursday should see partly cloudy skies with rain and thundershowers in some areas of the capital. The maximum and minimum temperatures are expected to be 33 and 21 degrees Celsius respectively," an India Meteorological Department official told IANS.

 

After witnessing 5.6 mm rainfall in the morning, the capital saw a further 0.3 mm rainfall until 5.30 p.m. Wednesday.

 

The day's humidity ranged between a maximum of 79 percent and a minimum of 51 percent respectively.

 

The minimum temperature for the day was 21.1 degrees Celsius.

 

Tuesday's maximum temperature was at recorded 37.8 degrees Celsius, two notches above average while the minimum was 22.3 degrees Celsius, three notches above average.
