Strauss vows to keep 'valuable' Pak, Lanka lessons in 'bank' for India series

London, Apr 8(ANI): England skipper Andrew Strauss believes the two Test series, which they have played in the sub-continent against Pakistan in UAE and Sri Lanka, has taught his side valuable lessons, and the team would like to keep those in mind for their four Test match series in India later this year.

Strauss hopes his team's heartening win at P Sara Stadium in Colombo will ensure certain mistakes are not repeated again, and revealed that his players had to rework on their technique all over again to adjust in the subcontinent.

"We've been seeing in the nets for a while that the guys have been forced to look again at their games. It's easy to say that we're experienced cricketers and that we should have known these things earlier, but the DRS has changed things, to a certain extent," The Independent quoted Strauss, as saying.

"We've had to look at our techniques and I think we've come through that, and everyone looks better now than they did at the start of the winter. It's always a shame that you have to be handed a few defeats to make sure you really do look at things, but you can't change that," he added.

Strauss expressed hope that when his side tours India for the Test series, they will be better prepared than the two series they played against Pakistan and Sri Lanka.

"We're excited. India is still a long way off, but we've got some good lessons we can put in the bank. We've got to get back to England and remember how to play swing and seam bowling now," Strauss said. (ANI)
