Kathmandu, Apr.5 (ANI): Visiting Indian Chief of Army Staff General V.K. Singh on Thursday said that 'The Indian Express' story on the suspicious movement of two key army units towards Delhi on the intervening night of January 16 and 17 this year, was "absolutely stupid".

"This is absolutely stupid," was all that a terse General Singh said here on the sidelines of a bilateral army visit.

General Singh said such reports were indicative of how some people were keen to throw muck at the government and the army, and added that they needed to be taken to task.

"Whosoever is trying to make stories against the army chief is deplorable. And what it shows is that people are unnecessarily trying to throw muck at both the government and the army and such people should be taken to task," he said.

The army chief is in Kathmandu to attend a three-day seminar on Natural Disaster Management and Humanitarian Assistance. (ANI)
