Dimapur, Mar 23 (ANI): The return of normalcy to Nagaland has benefited traders and businessmen of the state. The state, recently, hosted the first international spring expo in Dimapur where both domestic and overseas entrepreneurs exhibited their products.

It was for the first time that a spring expo was held in Dimapur, the commercial hub of Nagaland. The 13 daylong event provided the garment traders of Nagaland a bigger platform to showcase their products. More than 60 traders and entrepreneurs from various parts of the country participated in the fair.

Foreign traders from Egypt, Ghana and Thailand exhibited their products for first time in Nagaland.

"It's very good. People here are very interested to buy my products. I brought many items like painting, furniture, leather bag, and Egyptian jewellery," said Kamal Annwar, an Egyptian exhibitor.

The fair served as a buyer seller meet for the exhibitors. The participants from other states and countries made contacts with Naga traders and learnt more about markets in the northeast.

"Response to my products is very good. People appreciate and like my products and many people have purchased my products. They also asked about the pearl products from Hyderabad," said Aman Agarwal, an exhibitor from Andhra Pradesh.

Apart from garments and jewellery, traditional handloom and handicraft products from the region were also on sale. People thronged the venue in large numbers.

"Every year more such exhibitions should be held so that local entrepreneur can also get a chance to exhibit their talents to the other people who are coming from different part of the world. This helps them to interact and share their ideas and go for global market," said Rupak, a visitor.

The good response to the expo clearly reflects the fact that business opportunities in Nagaland are on the rise. (ANI)
