Islamabad, Mar 22(ANI): Pakistan Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani will not be sentenced for over six months in jail if he is convicted in the contempt of court case, his lawyer Aitzaz Ahsan has said.

He said that he had put some very strong reservations before the court which it was bound to look into, The News reports.

Ahsan pointed out that according to the interim January 10 order, Gilani could be disqualified for five years, but he expressed hope that the court would revise this part of its ruling.

He also said the inclusion of Article 10 in the Pakistan constitution symbolized a vital change in the law, which would make fair trial every citizen's basic right. (ANI)
