Islamabad, Mar 21 (ANI): A petition has been filed in the Supreme Court Lahore Registry to investigate the assets and sources of income of Pakistan President Asif Ali Zardari.

The applicant, Feroze Shah Gillani, said that the move should be taken in light of the National Reconciliation Ordinance (NRO) verdict.

It is the duty of the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) to obey the court's order by probing Zardari's assets and income, The Express Tribune quoted the petitioner, as saying.

The application further said that after the completion of the investigation, Zardari should be liable to pay taxes on the basis of the assessment of his wealth and property. (ANI)
