Memo Commission asks JKLF chief Yasin Malik to provide evidence against Ijaz'a allegations

Islamabad, Mon, 19 Mar 2012 ANI

Islamabad, Mar 19 (ANI): The Memo Gate Commission has asked Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) Chairman Yasin Malik to prove Pakistani-American businessman Mansoor Ijaz's allegations against him as wrong by providing evidence of his claims first before deciding whether or not to allow him to assist the commission in dealing with the matter.

In her petition, Malik wife Mushal had claimed that the allegations made by Ijaz that he had arranged a meeting between her husband and C. D. Sahay, a former Indian intelligence chief, had damaged Yasin's reputation.

Mushal also said her husband had insisted that he wanted to assist the commission and must be provided an opportunity to clear his name.

However, the commission asked Malik to first provide evidence of his claims before the commission decided whether he would be allowed to become a party to the case, The Express Tribune reports.

Later the proceedings were adjourned till March 26. (ANI)
