'The Lorax' tops box office for second consecutive week

Washington, Mar 12 (ANI): 'The Lorax' continued its hold on to the number one spot at the weekend box office, as moviegoers continued to enjoy the animated flick.

 

Based on the popular children's book, the film held strong in first place with 39.1 million dollars, bringing its two-week total to 125.4 million dollars in ticket sales.

 

'John Carter' staring Taylor Kitsch as a 19th century soldier Martian hero, earned 30.6 million dollars, Us magazine reported.

 

The animated Dr. Seuss film features the voice talents of Zac Efron, Taylor Swift, Danny DeVito, Ed Helms and Betty White.

 

While 'Project X' finished third with 11.6 million dollars, Elizabeth Olsen's 'Silent House' debuted in fourth place with 7.01 million dollars.

 

'Act of Valor' rounded off the top five with 7million dollars.
