Kirmani wants international cricket to resume in Pakistan

Islamabad, Sat, 10 Mar 2012 ANI

Islamabad, Mar 10 (ANI): Former Indian wicket-keeper batsman Syed Mujtaba Hussein Kirmani has stressed the need for the return of international cricket to Pakistan, saying that fans should not be deprived of the exiting sport being played on their soil.

"The entire subcontinent is passionate about its cricket and no part should be deprived of it. I really want to see international cricket making a return to Pakistan," The Express Tribune quoted Kirmani, who is on a personal trip to Karachi, as saying.

While the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) desperately wants the revival of the series, the BCCI's continuous reluctance has prompted the board's chairman Zaka Ashraf to say that India was afraid of playing against Pakistan.irmani said that such comments should be avoided.

"It's time that both boards sit down together to start a new beginning," he added. (ANI)
