Washington, Mar 9(ANI): US President Barack Obama is ramping up his re-election campaign with a release of a documentary on his first term.

The campaign has so far released a trailer for the film, which is directed by Oscar-winner Davis Guggenheim and narrated by Tom Hanks.

The clip includes interviews with key administration figures, including former chief of staff Rahm Emanuel, senior adviser David Axelrod, Vice-President Joe Biden, praising Obama's role in tackling economic challenges and the decision to eliminate former Al Qaeda chief Osama Bin Laden.

The trailer seeks to portray Obama as a president who was confronted with tough challenges during his first term, the BBC reports

It also highlights the president's healthcare reform law and bailout for the car industry.

The entire 17-minute version of the film, titled 'The Road We've Traveled', will be released on March 15 at the campaign's field offices across the US.

Republicans, however claimed that the documentary does not fully chronicle Obama's record.

Republican National Committee spokeswoman Kirsten Kukowski said that Americans did not need a movie trailer "to know what the president accomplished over the past three years".

"President Obama led our country to higher unemployment, record debt, and higher gas prices. The question is what does another Obama term mean for America?," she added. (ANI)
