Gilani congratulates Putin for success in Russian presidential polls

Islamabad, Mar 6 (ANI): Pakistan Prime Minister Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani congratulated Vladimir Putin over the telephone on his success in the presidential election in Russia.

It was a testimony to the confidence the people of Russia had reposed in his leadership, The Nation quoted Gilani as telling Putin.

Putin, who triumphed in Russia's presidential election on March 4, appreciated the efforts of and his colleagues for consolidating ties between Russia and Pakistan.

Gilani reportedly extended an invitation to utin to visit Pakistan in September this year, which the latter accepted.

Dates of the visit will be decided by the two foreign ministries soon, Putin said. (ANI)
