Damascus , Wed, 22 Feb 2012 ANI

Damascus, Feb 22 (ANI): Two Western journalists, one American and one French, have reportedly been killed in the bombardment of Syrian city of Homs.

According to Syrian activists, journalists died after a shell hit a makeshift media centre in the Baba Amr area, which has come under bombardment.

Rockets were also said to have hit the building's garden when people try to flee afterwards, The BBC reports.

At least three other foreign journalists were wounded, activists said.

Opposition-held districts of Homs have been under siege by security forces for over two weeks, with hundreds of people reportedly killed.

According to activists, over 40 died on Tuesday, including Rami al-Sayed, a man who broadcast a live video stream from Homs used by world media.

Last month, a French television journalist, Gilles Jacquier, was killed in Homs while visiting the city on a government-organised trip. (ANI)
