Pak SC indicts Gilani over contempt of court in NRO case

Islamabad, Mon, 13 Feb 2012 ANI

Islamabad, Feb 13 (ANI): Pakistan Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani has been indicted by the Supreme Court over contempt of court charges in the National Reconciliation Ordinance (NRO) case.

Giving its verdict, the Supreme Court said: "Gilani did not act on the Supreme Court's order".

Meanwhile, Gilani has said he is ready to go to jail.

Yesterday, he had said that the question of resigning over the contempt of court does not arise because he would automatically lose his job if convicted by the Supreme Court.

"There's no need to step down. If I'm convicted, then I'm not supposed to be a member of parliament," Gilani had said. (ANI)
