Nainital, Feb 12 (ANI): Nainital zoo authorities in Uttarakhand have introduced pram facility for tourists visiting with children, since the zoo is situated at high-altitude making it difficult for parents to carry children in arms.

Director of the G.B. Pant High Altitude Zoo, Nainital, Parag Madhukar said this facility has been introduced for giving relief to the parents and making their experience as a memorable one.

"We have introduced this facility of providing prams for the first time in a high altitude zoo and the aim was to improve services for the parents as well as the children visiting the zoo. Children are very much attracted towards zoo and animals and keeping this point in mind, this service has been introduced, so that children enjoy their experience of visiting a zoo and even the parents can enjoy without any worry," said Madhukar.

The tourists visiting the zoo, with their children, said the pram facility has made their visit enjoyable as the inclined pathways of the zoo made it difficult for them to carry their child in arms.

"Definitely this facility will benefit us because we do not belong to this place, we have come from Mumbai and it I tough for us to climb the slope, then carrying a baby and climbing the slope becomes more difficult for us. But we have availed the facility of pram, so the child is also enjoying, we do not have to carry the child in our arms," said Mughda, a tourist.

Nainital Zoo, also called as G.B. Pant High Altitude Zoo, is situated at a height of 2100 metres above sea level on the hills.

The zoo inhabits varieties of mammals, pheasants and flora. (ANI)
