AC Milan end their bid for Tevez after coming 'ever so close' to sign him
London, Jan 28(ANI): AC Milan has ended their bid to sign Manchester City outcast Carlos Tevez during this transfer season, with managing director Adriano Galliani claiming they came 'ever so close' to agreeing to a deal for the 27-year-old striker.
The Italian club had set a deadline at 5.30 to sign Tevez, but instead signed Maxi Lopez from Catania on loan.
"If someone had asked me at 5.30pm who would be coming, I'd have said Tevez. It was heart in mouth stuff right up to the deadline," The BBC quoted Galliani, as saying.
Milan hasn't decided to end their interest in Tevez and plans to bid for him again after four months when the summer transfer window opens.
Galliani insisted that he had left the talks with Manchester City on good terms and will try his level best to bring Tevez to the San Siro.
"We've left things well with City and the misunderstandings have been overcome. The market opens again in four months, so perhaps it will be just a few months of separation with 'Carlitos'. I did everything I could to bring him in," he added. (ANI)
