Gary Lineker hopes to star opposite wife Danielle in Bond flick
London, Jan 25 (ANI): Gary Lineker wants his former lingerie-model wife Danielle to land a big Hollywood role so he can finally afford to retire.
Despite his mammoth earnings from his days as a top pro footballer and his current role as chief pundit on Match Of The Day, he has revealed that he'd finally be able to give it all up if Danielle's move from modelling to acting takes off.
"Who knows if we will actually move to LA, I think that's something we'd look at when it arises," the Daily Star quoted him as saying.
"I'm getting old, so if Danielle gets 15 to 20million dollars a movie then I can retire.
"It might be a way off though so I'll just have to keep soldiering on," he said.
But former Leicester, Spurs Barcelona and Everton striker Gary is also thinking about muscling in on the big-screen action himself as he fancies himself as the next all-action 007.
"We could do Bond together, that would be good," he said.
"Danielle would be great at that. I could see us doing that together.
"Though I would draw the line at having to wear a pair of budgie-smugglers like Daniel Craig," he said.
And unlike some Hollywood wannabes, the ex-England forward isn't delusional about his acting talent.
"I think I'm all right and join in when I'm helping Danielle with her script.
"But she always tells me to stop trying to act and just read the lines and I'm like: 'Why? Why can't I join in?'
"To be honest, though, if I was going to get snapped up as an actor then I would have done so by now. I obviously have no ability," he added. (ANI)
