BSF jawans involved in incident along Indo-Bangladesh border suspended: MEA

New Delhi, Jan 19 (ANI): The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) on Thursday informed that the Border Security Force (BSF) has taken prompt action to suspend the jawans involved in the incident along India-Bangladesh border and full investigations have been ordered into the matter.

 

"BSF has taken prompt action to suspend BSF jawans involved in the incident and full investigations have been ordered into the matter," said MEA spokesperson Syed Akbaruddin in response to a question on the reported incident along India-Bangladesh border involving BSF Jawans.

 

According to certain media reports, a video telecast by a local channel had shown the BSF jawans thrashing a youth near the India-Bangladesh border in West Bengal's Murshidabad District.

 

The shocking video of BSF jawans mercilessly beating up a suspected cow smuggler on the Bangladesh border has created uproar. The men in uniform are seen stripping the Bangladeshi, tying him up and hitting him with sticks as he cries for mercy. (ANI)
