Android Handsets Activated Outnumbers Babies Born in a Day
London, Jan 14: As per reports, Android handsets activated every day have outnumbered babies are born on earth in a day.
Robert Kyncl, YouTube's head of content, revealed in the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas that December last year has seen 700,000 Android activated per day.
The United Nations statistics has claimed that around 300,000 babies are born worldwide every day that is less than the number of Android gadgets activated.
Kyncl said humorously that Google would now have to look for customers on other planets, as per The Telegraph reports.
With increasing number of mobile handset manufacturers launching Android handsets, it appears that the number of activations will be high for a while yet.
Software giant Microsoft and mobile maker Nokia are planning to give competition to Google's Android operating with a range of Windows Phone 7 powered mobiles.
At CES, these companies revealed that the forthcoming Lumia 900 would be larger sibling of the Lumia 800.
