Lower Dir, Jan 2 (ANI): Three police officials were injured in an explosion, when militants attacked a police mobile in Lower Dir district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Sunday.

According to security forces, militants exploded a remote controlled bomb in Zakha Khel while a police mobile was on routine patrol in the area, the Dawn reports.

Police officials said militant leader Mullah Fazlullah's accomplices might be behind the increased militancy in the area.

Military operations have recently increased in the Lower Kurram and tribal agencies, security forces said.

It was earlier thought that Fazlullah's supporters had fled to Afghanistan due to military operations in the region. However, the paper said it is possible that they have started returning now. (ANI)
