Aspirant cops demand Bihar Govt.'s inquiry in selection process

Patna, Mon, 20 Dec 2010 ANI

Patna, Dec.20 (ANI): A group of aspirant cops staged a protest outside Bihar Chief Minister's Nitish Kumar's residence here on Monday demanding the state government to enquire in the matter of selection in police force.

Holding banners, the protestors shouted slogans against the government.

Sanjeev, one of the protestors, said they have been bluffed by the selection committee as the candidates from the second list have received the joining letter but the candidates from the first list are yet awaiting the result.

"I would like to say that there is no such rule anywhere, or of any board that candidates from first list are waiting and candidates from the second list get the joining letter. We are not talking about the backward class or any general category but in every category it has happened... be it general or backward category. Candidates are picked up from the second list including general and backward categories," said Sanjeev.

Protestors warned that they would not give up the protest until justice is not given to them.

The police later baton-charged the protestors as they had become uncontrollable. (ANI)
