Beijing, Dec 11(ANI): Chinese police have reportedly cracked a transnational prostitution ring by detaining 31 suspects, including eight European prostitutes.

Zi Xiangdong, from the Beijing Municipal Public Security Bureau, said that the gang was headed by a European man in his 50s with the alias surname Gu.

He said that the gang included eight European prostitutes, 10 Chinese prostitutes and 12 assistants, who allegedly organized the prostitution.

The gang was engaged in advertising prostitution on the Internet, and handing out business cards near hotels to solicit customers in Beijing.

"The foreign prostitutes got tips ranging from 3,000 yuan to 10,000 yuan for having sex one time, and if an assistant succeeded in soliciting a deal, he could get from several hundred to 1,000 yuan," the China Daily quoted Xiangdong, as saying.

"As the next step, we will target the manipulators behind the scene, who forced, organized and provided shelter to the prostitutes," he added. (ANI)
