15 militants killed in Pakistan

Peshawar, Sep 28 (ANI): At least 15 militants were killed and 22 others were injured in ongoing Pakistani security forces operation in Bajaur tribal agency.

 

Official sources said on Saturday that security forces targeted and destroyed hideouts of militants in Tangkhata, Delly, Kausar, Rashkai, Bicheenaand Banda areas using artillery, mortar and gunship helicopters.

 

They also recovered huge quantity of arms and ammunition from militants' hideouts.

 

Meanwhile, security forces started advancement towards Lowesome stronghold of militants and further strengthened control over surrounding areas.

 

According to reports elders of various tribes of Kurram Agency reached agreement regarding complete ceasefire in the Agency for three months.

 

It was reached at tribal elders jirga in Islamabad today for restoring peace in Kurram Agency. It was attended by 50 representatives each of Tori tribe and Ahle Sunnat al Jamaat Group.

 

Assistant Political Agent, Lower Kurram Ayaz Mandokhel said parties agreed to announce ceasefire immediately and pledged not to violate it till December 31.

 

Under auspices of political administration, both parties agreed that road leading towards Parachinar would be opened for everybody to supply medicines and food items. (ANI)
