Nevada (US), Nov 22 (ANI): Sending early Thanksgiving greetings to fellow Americans, Hindu statesman Rajan Zed has urged them to "make a positive difference in the lives of people around you" as an expression of gratitude.

Rajan Zed, who is President of Universal Society of Hinduism, said that this would be a great appreciation for the wonderful gifts of family, health, friends, harvest, etc., we were blessed with. A thankful heart would bring peace.

A national holiday in USA, Thanksgiving tradition apparently evolved from the Plymouth (Massachusetts) settlers who marked a day of thanksgiving for the first harvest in the autumn of 1621. Celebrated on the fourth Thursday of November, it is said to be the annual tradition since 1863.

Primarily held in USA and Canada (October), it is also observed in Grenada (October), Leiden (Netherlands) (November) and Liberia (November). It falls on November 25 in USA this year. (ANI)
