Manmohan Singh seeks better trade ties with Ethiopia

Seoul (Korea) Nov 11(ANI): The Prime Minister, Dr. Manmohan Singh, has expressed a desire for India and Ethiopia to strengthen their bilateral trade and investment ties.

 

Dr. Singh conveyed this message during a meeting with his Ethiopian counterpart Meles Zenawi on the sidelines of the fifth Group of Twenty (G-20) Summit in South Korean Capital Seoul.

 

Ethiopia, which is not a member of the G-20 summit, is invited to attend as Meles Zenawi heads the New Partnership for Africa's Development (NEPAD).

 

The Ethiopian government has been providing facilitation to the Indian investors to expand their business in Ethiopia especially in the agriculture sector.

 

Ethiopia has consistently supported of India's position on various global issues.

 

Ethiopia greatly appreciates India's understanding of problems related to countries of Africa.

 

Ethiopia has identified Indian institutions for the training of their nationals in the fields of agriculture, small industry, transportation, higher education, banking, health and engineering.
