New York, Sept 24 (ANI): A monsignor has told officials that he was a victim of a scam by actress Anne Hathaway's ex-beau Italian businessman Raffaello Follieri.

Monsignor William Hodge of Atlantic City, New Jersey, came forward as a victim in a letter to federal probation officials, reports the New York Daily News.

He told them that Follieri duped him out of 110,000 dollars left to him by his parents. He said that the Italian businessman claimed he needed the money to pay nuns.

Follieri pleaded guilty to wire fraud and money laundering on Sept. 10. He faces 65 years in prison when sentenced Oct. 3 in Manhattan Federal Court.

Prosecutors said that Follieri duped investors out of money, telling them he wanted to buy unneeded property from Roman Catholic churches - but then used the money to travel the world with Hathaway, the 'Devil Wears Prada' star. (ANI)
