Foreign diplomats a worried lot in Pak after Saturday's hotel attack
Islamabad, Sept 23 (ANI): Foreign diplomats in Islamabad are a worried lot these days after Saturday's devastating suicide attack on a five star hotel which claimed 60 lives, including the Czech Republic ambassador and four other foreigners.
They said that they have been advised by the Pakistan Government to use private number plates on their vehicles and not the regular plates bearing "Carrier Diplomat" number.
Diplomats of various embassies said that they were still unable to reconcile with the deadly blast and were haunted by the 'fear of the unknown'. Most of them blamed the Pakistani government for not doing enough to stop suicide attacks, reported the Daily Times.
A number of envoys said that they prefer to remain inside their houses due to security threats. "We have been strictly asked to limit our movement and take precautions while traveling," the Daily Times quoted a diplomat from a Western European country as saying.
After the blast, many of them are now planning to send back their family members to their respective countries. They said they had lost confidence in the Pakistani security apparatus, and had been asked by their respective governments to take measures on their own. (ANI)
