New York, Oct 14 (ANI): Two California-based porn companies have reportedly suspended the productions of their films after a porn star tested positive for HIV.

Both Wicked Pictures and Vivid Entertainment said the decision was made as a precaution, reports the Los Angeles Times.

The performer, whose identity or gender was not disclosed, tested positive at the Adult Industry Medical (AIM) clinic, in Sherman Oaks, which is used by those in the porn industry.

Steven Hirsch, Vivid's co-founder, said the company immediately suspended production after learning of the positive test.

"We did this as a precaution and will continue to monitor the situation," the New York Post quoted Hirsch as saying.

"AIM Healthcare acted appropriately to quarantine all adult talent who may have been exposed. We will wait for all of the facts to emerge before we resume production," Hirsch added.

Wicked commended AIM's handling of the issue in a statement.

"Even though Wicked is condoms-mandatory, we have postponed our upcoming productions to give AIM a chance to create a comprehensive quarantine list," the statement read. (ANI)
