Indian Embassy sets up camp office in Nepal

Kathmandu, Sept 23 (ANI): The camp office of the Indian Embassy in Biratngar in Kathmandu, which has been established for facilitating movement of goods and vehicles to India, came into operation from today.

 

Nepal Minister for Foreign Affairs Upendra Yadav inaugurated the office.

 

According to the Indian Embassy, the office has been established in response to an urgent request by the Government of Nepal, reiterated during the recent visit of the Prime Minister Prachanda to India.

 

It was established to address the difficulties being faced by Nepalis in obtaining necessary permits after the Koshi floods damaged the East-West highway.

 

A joint press statement issued at the end of the Prachanda's visit to India stated that the camp office would be established to facilitate movement of vehicular traffic through India for improved access to other parts of Nepal, Nepalnews reported. (ANI)
