CWG: 32 gold medals at stake, all eyes upon Sania, Narang

New Delhi, Oct 9 (ANI): After a superb performance by the Indian shooters and wrestlers on the fifth day of the XIXth Commonwealth Games, there is plenty of action lined up for Day 6, with 32 gold medals at stake, and all eyes are upon ace tennis star Sania Mirza and shooting champion Gagan Narang, who will fight for gold in their respective events.

 

Sania faces Australia's Anastasia Rodionova in the women's singles final today.

 

Ace shooters Gagan Narang and Imran Hasan will participate in the Singles 50 m Rifle 3 Positions (Men).

 

Shooting will have more to offer today with Vijay Kumar and Harpreet Singh participating in the Pairs 25m Pistol (Men) and Suma Siddharth Shirur and Kavitha Yadav in the Pairs 10m Air Rifle shooting event.

 

India will look to break more records in wrestling as three gold medals are at stake today.

 

Yogeshwar Dutt, Narsingh Pancham Yadav and Anil Mann will fight for gold in the 60kg freestyle, 74kg freestyle and 96kg freestyle finals (Men's) respectively.

 

Women weightlifters Monika Devi and Srishti Singh will compete in the 75 kg freestyle.

 

The gold medals at stake today include: athletics (10), archery (2), swimming (9), shooting (4), tennis (2), weightlifting (2) and wrestling (3). (ANI)
