Wrestler Anita wins gold in women's 67kg freestyle event

New Delhi, Oct 8 (ANI): After wrestler Alka Tomar bagged a gold medal in the 59-kg freestyle event, wrestler Anita won a 19th gold for India on the fifth day of the XIXth Commonwealth Games in women's 67kg freestyle event here today.

 

She defeated Canadian M. Buydens 4-1.

 

Earlier today, wrestler Alka Tomar bagged a gold medal in the 59-kg freestyle event defeating Canadian wrestler Tonya Verbeek 3-2.

 

Nigerian Tega Tosin Richard won the bronze in the same event, defeating England's Louisa Bernadette Salmon 5-0.

 

Ace shooter Vijay Kumar had earlier today won gold in 25m Rapid Fire Pistol shooting.

 

Kumar shot 787.5, while India's Gurpreet Singh claimed bronze in the same event shooting 758.7. (ANI)
