Shane Warne, Dermott Brereton to co-own nightclubs in Australia, India

Melbourne , Sun, 19 Sep 2010 ANI

Melbourne, Sep 19 (ANI): Australian cricket legend Shane Warne and soccer ace Dermott Brereton have teamed-up to become co-owners of Melbourne's most exclusive nightclub and plan to launch other venues in Sydney and India.

Warne and Hawthorn premiership player are part of a group that would pay 3.5 million dollar for a share in CBD club Silk Road.

The deal expected to be finalized next week.

The venue is owned by hospitality entrepreneur Nick Zampelis, who sold a 30 per cent stake to Warne and Brereton.

The lavish club includes eight bars and several themed restaurants that cater to almost 1000 patrons.

An insider to the deal said Warne and Brereton plan to rename the venue's private rooms to Club 23, after the number they both wore in their respective sports.

"Not that I'm not looking at something but ... that is wildly inaccurate. From the bottom of my heart, there is no deal," the Age quoted Brereton as saying. (ANI)
