His dauntless bravery can not be defined in words. The whole nation is mourned the death of Delhi Police Special Cell Inspector Mohan Chand Sharma. The India's proud was succumbed to bullet injuries he got during gunbattle with terrorists at Jamia Nagar in South Delhi on Friday morning. His funeral will take place here today.

Acting on the tip off from Abu Bashir, the mastermind of Ahmedabad blasts, who was brought to Delhi yesterday for interrogation, the team reached the particular area in the look out for Atiq. Atiq is the key associate of Tauqeer, who is believed to be behind the Ahmedabad blasts and the alleged mastermind behind Delhi blasts.

The excellent commander as usual on Friday was leading the team. As he knocked the door of L-18, fourth floor, Batla House in Jamia Nagar, three bullets fired from the terrorists holed up inside the house pierced the body of Sharma.

Soon, the additional police force numbering about 150 cordoned off the area. The gunbattle that went off for two hours ended with encounter of two terrorists and arrest of one.

Atiq alias Bashir and Khudib Fakrruddin were gunned down, while Saif was arrested. Another two terrorists managed to escape.

Inspector Mohan Sharma along with Head Constable Balwant Rana were also injured in the gun fire. Sharma, battling for life, eventually succumbed to injury in the evening at Holy Family Hospital. Rana, who was shot in right arm, was admitted to Trauma Centre, AIIMS. His condition is now stable.

In his condolence to the 43-year-old and seven-gallantry award winner officer, M C Sharma, Prime Minister Manmohan Singh said: “Sharma was an exceptionally brave officer. He had shown exceptional courage throughout his career and had been decorated with gallantry awards many times. He was an inspiration for our security forces in his life and will continue to inspire them after this demise too. It are these officers who make us all feel confident that our security is in safe hands. Mr. Sharma's passing away is a great loss for our country and society.”

Saif, sources say, later confessed his involvement in the recent blasts in Ahmedabad, Jaipur and Delhi. He reportedly admitted that his associate Bashir alias Atiq mastermind all the blasts.

The same day the Delhi police met with another success when Zeeshan, another terror suspect was arrested from the Jhandewalan area of Central Delhi.

With two killed and two arrested, police are now on a lookout of the remaining six out of ten terrorists, who were allegedly involved in Delhi blasts.

The Special Cell is pushing for a police remand for Saif, who was produced in court on Saturday and sent to 14-day police custody. Zeeshan and Saif have been charged for Murder under the Arms Act.

Delhi police U-turn on blasts

Bashir alias Atiq is now being described as the mastermind of Indian Mujahideen (IM) and responsible for serial blasts in Hyderabad, Jaipur, Ahmedabad and Delhi.

This is a complete deviation from the earlier explanation theory floated by the police in which Abdus Subhan alias Tauqeer was dubbed as the mastermind behind the serial blasts in Delhi.
