Tue, 01 Jan 2008 ANI

Kathmandu, Sept 19 (ANI): Nepal's Minister for Land Reform and Management Matrika Yadav has forwarded his resignation to Prime Minister Prachanda here today. n his resignation submitted to Prachanda, Yadav has accused the Madhesi Janadhikar Forum and CPN (UML) of being anti-people parties.

Stating that he had acted in favour of the people, Yadav reiterated to remain a pro-people politician.

Earlier today, the central secretariat members of the CPN (Maoist) directed Yadav to apologise for his unruly behaviour, as he accused Deputy Prime Minister Bam Dev Gautam of encroaching into works under his authority.

According to Maoist leaders, Yadav during the meeting, refused to accept any wrong doing in recapturing the land that was held by Maoist cadres in the past.

Talking to media persons here on Thursday, Yadav said that since the issue of land administration falls under his ministry, it was unnecessary for Bam Dev Gautam to send police to 'free the land captured by Maoist cadres' in Mirchaiya of Siraha district.

After the police freed the land, Yadav marshaled his cadres to the area and 'recaptured' it claiming that the land belongs to landless and poor people.

He also vowed to smash all kinds of nexuses of land mafia, Nepalnews reported. (ANI)
