'God didn't play a hand in The Big Bang', says Stephen Hawking
London, Sep 2(ANI): The Big Bang was the result of the inevitable laws of physics and did not need God to spark the creation of Universe, claimed Stephen Hawking.
Hawking has claimed that that no divine force was needed to explain why the Universe was formed.
"It is not necessary to invoke God to light the blue touch paper and set the Universe going," the Telegraph quoted him as saying.
"Because there is a law such as gravity, the Universe can and will create itself from nothing. Spontaneous creation is the reason there is something rather than nothing, why the Universe exists, why we exist," said Hawking in an extract from his latest book, 'The Grand Design'.
Though, in his earlier book, 'A Brief History of Time', Hawking did not rule out the possibility of God in the creation of universe.
But, his new book rejects Sir Isaac Newton's theory that the Universe did not spontaneously begin to form but was set in motion by God, contradictory to his earlier work. (ANI)
