On the issue of decreasing seats in MD/MS of Unani Faculty, Vice-chancellor, professor P K Abdul Azis said that the Health Ministry has identified several flaws. Dean of the Faculty and Principal of Tibbiya College have been instructed to remove all those shortcomings at the earliest.
Central Council of Indian Medicine (CCIM) has issued a notice of cancellation of MD course for remaining unable to maintain minimum standard and facilities of Ajmal Khan Tibbiya College, Aligarh Muslim University. The college is running short of facilities like shortage of staff and teachers, unavailability of machines like ultrasound, unsatisfied delivery facility, unavailability of latest and updated books and computer systems with internet facility.
Vice Chancellor P K Abdul Azis made it clear to every one that the problem would be solved soon and vacant posts of teachers would be filled through a Selection Committee. New and latest books, computers would also be provided to the college.
He further said that demonstration or dharna is not the right way to speak troubles or sufferings. It shows discipline standard of any institute. Students must convey their problems through Dean and Principal within law and order.
This was also noticed that after getting information about the notice of Central Council of Indian Medicine, a group of students went to the Registrar office, demonstrated there and demanded to meet vice- chancellor immediately on this issue.
