London, Aug 23 (ANI): French model Vanessa Perroncel, involved in the John Terry sex scandal, has criticized the use of legal gagging orders which limits the press not to report details of footballers' private lives.
Perroncel said that the players should not be allowed to use their wealth to "cherry pick" their portrayal in the media.
The 33-year-old spoke out after two other Premiership stars used the courts to ban publication of potentially damaging allegations.
"I know how expensive it is to take out an injunction, and it's not fair that footballers should be allowed to protect themselves because of their money," the Telegraph quoted Perroncel as telling the Independent.
Perroncel has also criticized Terry's decision to seek the order to keep allegations that he had an affair with Perroncel out of the media. (ANI)
