Health officials in the national capital Delhi are on a drive to contain the spread of dengue as it continues to infect more people. As many as 19 new cases have been reported in the city on Wednesday taking the total to 293.
MCD Public Health Committee Chairman V K Monga said to reporters that nineteen more patients are tested positive for the virus and the number of cases may rise in the coming days as hot and unusually humid weather are contributing to the breeding of mosquitoes.
The city has received heavy rains in the last couple of weeks which further causes fear of increasing the number of patients with the rise of mosquitoes; it can then cause serious problem.
However, the officials state that the outbreak is well within control as they have already launched cleaning and awareness drive in this regard.
Dengue fever is a common concern in Delhi after each monsoon which can lead to high fever lasts about seven days, with flu-like symptoms, and even death of patients.
