Ashok Chawla joins as Secretary of Department of Economic Affairs
New Delhi, Sept 17 (ANI): Ashok Chawla, IAS-1973 batch of Gujarat Cadre, joined as Secretary of the Department of Economic Affairs, Ministry of Finance here this morning.
Chawla is considered as a veteran in economic affairs and has held the post of Deputy Secretary, Director, Additional Secretary and Special Secretary, Department of Economic Affairs before joining as Secretary, Ministry of Civil Aviation from February 1, 2007.
He has also worked as Joint Secretary and also Additional Secretary and FA in the Ministry of Chemicals and Fertilizers.
For a short duration, he also held the additional charge of Secretary, Ministry of Information and Broadcasting.
Chawla has held important assignments in the Government of Gujarat. (ANI)
