London, Aug 3 (ANI): A survey by an Internet insurance firm has found that Brits who shop online have managed to save 27,024 pounds each in the last ten years.
The poll of 3,000 shoppers showed that on average they save 2,702 pounds a year by surfing for deals on holidays, insurance, clothes homewares, music, books, kids' items and electricals, the Sun reported.
It also showed that the weekly food shopping spent in-store in 2000 went down from 71.22 pounds to 48.98 pounds when done online, saving people 11,564 pounds in ten years. n average person buying a car online now spends 4,540 pounds, compared to 5,988 pounds at a dealership in 2000, and they also fork out nearly 300 pounds less a year on clothes.
And comparison websites have pushed the average amount paid for a package holiday down from 930 pounds to 772 pounds.
Nine out of ten polled were sure they save money by shopping online. Just over half said they no longer had time to go to the high street. (ANI)
