Live bombs found, failed to create terror

Dec 06:  The attempt to create terror was busted by the Rae Bareli police in Uttar Pradesh when it discovered five live bombs placed in the court premises hearing the Babri Masjid demolition case here on Thursday.

Security has been placed on high alert across Uttar Pradesh, especially at courts. The bombs were found in a bag that was tied to a cycle.

One man Raja Ram has been arrested in whose possession these bombs were found and are being questioned.

Police however maintain that it does not seem to be an attempt to carry out a terror attack, but is only a breach of security.

The breach comes when security had already been alerted in the wake of serial bomb blasts in the court premises of the three cities that rocked Uttar Pradesh hardly some days ago on November 23.

Informed sources said Intelligence agencies had already warned UP police about possible terror attack that might be struck especially in courts on December 6.

Today is the 15 th anniversary of the Babri Masjid demolition.

In Ayodhya the security has been tightened around the three main temples of Hanumangarhi, Nageshwarnath and Kanak Bhavan. All vehicles coming into the city are checked thoroughly and even offerings carrying into temples are being screened.

Not only Ayodhya, but also security has been stiffened at all the sensitive sites including the Indian Military Academy in Dehradun and at the Taj Mahal in Agra.

The situation had already been tensed across UP owing to the blasts in three cities namely Faizabad, Lucknow and Varanasi on November 23 this year.

Although the sources says that sentiments on both sides of the religious divide have considerably been calmed in relation to the Babri Masjid that had been razed to the ground by the mobs 15 years ago.

The Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) observes the day as Shaurya Diwas at Ayodhya and took a pledge to build a grand temple of Lord Ram on the ruins of the Babri mosque.

The Shiv Sena will separately mark a Vijay Diwas (Day of Victory).

Muslim outfits will remain in the mourning mould, a practice undertaken since the 1992 razing.
