Rihanna learned dangers of booze from alcohol 'addict' dad

London, Sept 16 (ANI): RnB singer Rihanna insists that she would never go overboard with drinking, for she has learnt the dangers of booze by her alcoholic 'addict' father.

The singer revealed that she had a difficult childhood because of her dad's drink and drug problems.

In fact, Rihanna, whose father left home when she was nine, even had to take care of her younger brothers as a child, when her mother went to work.

However, the Barbados-born star claims that it was her father's bad habits that taught her some valuable lessons, as she has had a closer look at the problems associated with drinking.

"I'd go out and get drunk in Barbados, but I never went over the top. I was never in Amy Winehouse mode. I'd seen what alcohol and drugs had done to my dad and I wasn't going to follow in his footsteps. I knew my limits when I was a kid and I still do," the Daily Express quoted her, as saying.

She added: "I go out to have fun, to dance and laugh at people fighting or dressed like whores. I never get to the point where I want to throw up, can't stand up straight or say things I'm likely to regret in the morning." (ANI)
