Coimbatore man has 1500 vintage cameras!

Coimbatore, Sep. 16 (ANI): A man in Coimbatore has a hobby of collecting cameras. He has raised a collection of over 1500 vintage cameras and 500 lenses of different brands, one of them even dating back to circa 1860.

His collection includes almost all the antique cameras like Roliflex, Condiflex, Nikkon, Bronica, Kodak's Click-III and all kind of lenses.

Besides, he is also fond of keeping map-reading scales.

45-year-old Kalia Perumal's collection includes the smallest click camera and a rare map-scaling camera, making the entire collection deserving items to be displayed in a museum on cameras.

He felt drawn to cameras since he was eight years of age.

"Since childhood I had a flair for cameras. I also had a habit of collecting age-old cameras. I have almost all kinds of cameras with me, be it world's first camera or lenses and even I have a good collection of projectors and map readers," said Kalia Perumal, antique camera collector.

Peramul is always ready to spend as much as he can to buy these vintage cameras from any part of this world. His passion to collect the unique cameras of yore continues even today.

Kalia Perumal wants to collect as many cameras as he can and fill his room with these antique cameras. He wishes to set up a museum of his unique collection, which could be useful for visual communication students to learn about ancient cameras. By Jehaova G (ANI)
