Dubai, Sept.16 (ANI): Dubai International Capital, the international investment arm of Dubai Holding, has denied having held any kind of negotiations with Newcastle United on a possible takeover of the cash-strapped club. n a statement, the DIC was quoted by Gulf News as saying it hadn't even considered making a renewed bid for Liverpool FC, which it had openly courted and with whom it has been linked since early 2007.

Its statement to Bloomberg read: "DIC can confirm that it is not involved in any negotiations to buy LFC, and is not planning a fresh bid for LFC or any other football club."
Mike Ashley, the owner of Newcastle, has confirmed he is looking to sell the St James' Park outfit. (ANI)
