Now, woo your secret crush with a Web-based 'calling card'

New York, Sat, 24 Jul 2010 ANI

New York, July 24 (ANI) Forget leaving paper love notes for your secret crush - now a Web based calling card allows you to woo him/her through Internet.

It's the latest dating trend - singles can coyly slip calling cards to those who catch their eye and meet up later.

For instance, Cheek'd members receive a pack of cards scrawled with teasing phrases like "I'm going to make this easy for you."

A Web site and code printed on the card leads the person to their secret admirer.

If you are the sender, you have to pay 25 dollars for 50 cards and a month's subscription. But your catch of the day doesn't have to pay anything to contact you through the site.

The new trend kicks out conventional dating sites and sometimes deceiving online personal ads.

According to The New York Daily News, this technique blends the thrill of real-life romance with the Internet's comforting obscurity, reports The New York Times.

Other hip trends - GPS-powered dating tools, like Grindr, help you find other singles within a walking radius using your phone.

Another popular application, Skout, a free iPhone app, creates an experience like walking into a bar, where you can flirt and wink at others.

Skip the niceties and move directly to arranging the rendezvous. (ANI)
