Former Oz cricketer Dean Jones admits fathering love child

London, July 18 (ANI): Former Australian cricketer Dean Jones has admitted that he fathered a child with a Sydney mistress.

The 49-year-old former Victorian batsman has a son, aged about one, after an 'on-and-off relationship' with the woman.

Jones, who has two daughters with wife Jane, made the confession after Channel Nine's A Current Affair said it would expose him.

"Following an on-and-off relationship with a woman, a child was conceived and subsequently delivered," the Sydney Morning Herald quoted Jones as saying.

"I can also confirm that I have supported the mother and child more generously than was agreed. At no stage have I not met my obligations," he added.

However, the child's mother is said to have taken legal action as part of a battle over child support.

A Current Affair reporter has claimed that 'papers have now been lodged in the courts'.

However,Jones stressed he was unaware of any legal claim against him and said he had met every financial obligation 'and more'.(ANI)
