Mumbai, July 17 (ANI): During a promotional campaign in Pune, Maharashtra, Bollywood actor Akshya Kumar took part in a bicycle rally and rode a bicycle to promote his upcoming movie 'Khatta Meetha'.
Akshay reached the venue dressed as 'Sachin Tichkule', who is the main character in the movie.
The Bollywood actor said that 'Khatta Meetha' is based on the ups and downs in the life of a common man.
"Khatta Meetha is about life. Life is sometime on its highs and sometimes on its lows. Like in my life it's sometime up and sometimes down, sometimes 'khatta' sometimes 'meetha'. It's about a common man's life," Akshay said.
Akshay also said that the film is a political satire on the municipal and constructers in India, told through the life of a contractor Sachin Tichkule.
"Corruption in beaurocracy, that is the message and how a man, a common man who wants to go straight in his life, turns corrupt because of the corruption," he added.
During the event Akshay highlighted that 'Khatta Meetha' is a sensible film, backed by a well-structured script that caters to the tastes of the masses as well as the classes.
Akshay is paired opposite south Indian actress Trisha Krishnan, who makes her debut in Bollywood with this film.
Like many other films of Bollywood director Priyadarshan, 'Khatta Meetha' is a remake of his own Malayalam film 'Vellanakalude Nadu'.
'Khatta Meetha' is scheduled to hit the theatre on July 30. (ANI)
