Govt. to release commemorative coins in honour of Annadurai

New Delhi, Sept 18 (ANI): The Government of India will release commemorative coins in honour of Thiru Annadurai, social reformer and former Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu during the 100th birth anniversary celebrations commencing from his birthday today.

 

Thiru Annadurai's contributions to politics, Tamil literature, drama, cinema and social reforms are well known.

 

He was a follower of E.V.R. Periyar, the founder of the Dravida Kazhagam, and was in the forefront of the rationalist movement.

 

Annadurai is held in high esteem among the people of Tamil Nadu as well as by Tamils all over the world. (ANI)
