Mumbai, Sept 14 (ANI): Lakhs of people in Mumbai will bid adieu to Lord Ganesh today, which is 'Anant Chaturdashi'.

At the end of the ten-day festivities Lord Ganesha will leave homes and pandals for his final journey to lakes and sea shores.

Elaborate security arrangements have been made for the festival.

Control rooms have been set up at five places - Girgaum chowpatty, Shivaji Park chowpatty, Bandra, Juhu chowpatty and Ganesh Ghat at Powai.

Moreover, watch towers have been erected at 37 places for regulating road traffic and processions carrying Ganpati idols.

CCTVs have also been installed on important immersion routes to keep an eye on the processions.

The processions will begin with beating of drums, sprinkling of colours and dancing by devotees. Chants of 'Ganpati bappa morya, pudchya varshi laukar ya' will rent the air.

This year, the Mumbai police has issued strict guidelines saying that no firecrackers should be burst on the beaches. (ANI)
