London, Sept 14 (ANI): Britney Spears' mother has revealed how her pop princess daughter went to hell and came back.
The 'Toxic' hitmaker's life went out of control after her short-lived and unsuccessful marriages to Jason Alexander and Kevin Federline, the latter with whom Britney had a highly publicized child-custody battle over their two sons.
The singer, who was branded a danger to herself and her kids, had almost reached a point of mental breakdown.
However, at the glittering MTV awards show, Britney made the most sensational comeback in pop history - from crazed star on the brink of self- destruction back to the pop star, the world fell in love with.
Now, in her book 'Through The Storm - A Real Story of Fame and Family in a Tabloid World,' the singer's mother Lynn Spears has described her joy as she watched Britney get a standing ovation at the awards function.
Lynn believes that the applause finally swept away a nightmare two years in which she'd seen her troubled daughter's life spiral out of control and into a psychiatric hospital.
"I looked at her on stage and realised I finally had her back," News of the World quoted her, as saying.
"I saw the Britney we remember and love-not the girl I had seen strapped to a stretcher being wheeled into a psychiatric hospital-and tears of relief filled my eyes.
"She is my fighter, my sweetheart. My girl had been to hell and back. It has been one helluva journey," she added. (ANI)
