Saina's Super Series hat-trick a 'phenomenal achievement': Gopichand

Bangalore, June 27(ANI): Ace Indian shuttler Saina Nehwal's coach Pullela Gopichand on Sunday termed her hat-trick of Super Series titles as a phenomenal achievement.

Saina clinched the third Super Series title of her career by defeating Japan's Sayaki Sato 21-19, 13-21, 21-11 in the finals of Indonesian Open in Jakarta today.

"It's a really great performance to win the Super Series event and defend her title is a fantastic performance. She has improved physically and mentally and how she has developed as a player and...overall it is a fantastic performance," Gopichand said.

Gopichand said that Saina had been playing in select international tournaments, which has helped her to work on her game and physical fitness.

He further said that three titles in a row would boost her confidence, before important events like the World Championships. (ANI)
